Need to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?

The car is already in the shop getting the oil pan and trans gaskets replaced along with brakes and front suspension, so many parts are already off the car and the timing chain is already in reach. How much in fairness extra should the timing chain and timing chain cover cost to replace, looking on e-bay the costs on the parts are approx $100.00. I just don't want to be taken advantage of on the labor especially when he is already working in that area and charging me labor.Need to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?Timing sprocket and chain are usually under $100 and the cover is another $55. This is parts only. If they already have it ripped apart, it should take about one hour labor.Need to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?That should be a 425. I have not worked on one that old and dont know how they differ from the later motors. If there are a lot of miles on the engine you might as well replace it. Make sure you get a quality set from someone like cloyes. DO NOT get a typical parts store replacement. If the motor is fairly low miles the only concern would be if it was a plastic covered cam gear. I know a few years after that they went to that design. If it has that design I would replace it no matter what. I dont know any reason to replace the timing cover or water pump. Timing cover issues were more in the buicks that also housed the oil pump. If the water pump is working and not leaking I would not mess with it. Its not like FWD cars where its hard to get to.Need to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?call three shops ask them how much to replace timing chain or belt and that should do dont matter what parts he has to or not remove its knowing how to install it and doing it right he don thave to do th ejob but then you can come back and be charged later and if it breaks can pay more for repairs then plus the tow truck chargeNeed to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?I would say about $800 parts included. I would not take the parts to them as then you have no warranty in case of problems. Were the parts you supplied bad or was their labor bad? Can't prove either one.Need to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?Count on $400 to $500. They should replace the water pump while doing that job which would be included in that amount.Need to know pricing for replacing a timing belt on a 1967 Olds 98?Fair chargeis another 1.5 hours.
