How much does it cost roughly to have a timing belt replaced in AU$?

I want to get my timing belt on an '03 getz replaced before it breaks. Just want a rough price for this job as I wanna have a rough idea before I call mechanics! How much does it cost roughly to have a timing belt replaced in AU$?Don't know what a getz is or the conversion rate for ?AU$?

It really depends on the car and the position of the timing belt, if it's harder to access it will cost more in terms of labor. Just get a few quotes from different mechanics.

Good luck! How much does it cost roughly to have a timing belt replaced in AU$?dsadsaHow much does it cost roughly to have a timing belt replaced in AU$?the mechanic,s will quote from a book which specifies the maximum amount of time they can charge you for(sorry but true)plus parts.

even if it only takes 90 minutes of work the time in the book is what they will charge for labour.

which will be around $90 an hour and up

so yes please get several quotes and go with the best.

the most expensive quote will likely be from the dealer.

the best quote will be from a shop needing the work.

on the bright side your car is only just over 6 years old, mine is almost 14 and i aint worried about the timing chain just yet.

i will deal with it when i cross that bridge. How much does it cost roughly to have a timing belt replaced in AU$?the price will vary but expect a price of around $400 plus parts a total of between $450 to $550 would be reasonable but without inspecting the car it is difficult to put a price on the job to be sure your not getting ripped of get a price in writing from 2 or 3 mechanicsHow much does it cost roughly to have a timing belt replaced in AU$?i just asked my mechanic he says around $500
