How much would it be to install a timing belt on a 95 dodge neon?

on a 95 model id say you got single over head cam so about 200 bucks to replace that one ,and that's counting labor and parts, its not a hard job but if you have never done one before its a real hard job to do and get it back in time, its better to let a shop do it than attempt to do it your self, good luck. How much would it be to install a timing belt on a 95 dodge neon?SOHC calls for 2.5 hours at the labor rate in your area.

DOHC calls for 3.5 hours at the labor rate in your area.

Price of the belt which differs for SOHC and DOHC.

Good LuckHow much would it be to install a timing belt on a 95 dodge neon?I'm not sure about the specific times but Tim is correct. The DOHC is more labour intensive so you need to know which engine you have in your Neon.

It is also a good idea to replace the timing belt tensioner and water pump at the same time. The reasoning for that is should either item go, it's a lot of work to replace them so you may as well change them while you are changing the timing belt. How much would it be to install a timing belt on a 95 dodge neon?Hi, the job pays 6 hours at whatever labor price the shop charges. It takes a while for anyone. Warranty pays 3, so you see why so many dealerships can't hire anyone, times are determined by either the manufacturer(warranty) or there are a couple of labor operations books for repair shops to use. A Neon with a standard 4 would be around 6 hours with DOHC, turbo pays an hour extra., a fair time. Most dealers only allow warranty time, ok. Tough but thats the way it is. It takes quite a few repairs to get a 40 hour work week. These times are called labor operations times. The books are available to anyone at a library or at the shop you bring the car to, its all about time. Some technicians work salary or by the hour, but it is rare in dealerships for a line mechanic to work hourly. The parts would add maybe 175.00 tops. okHow much would it be to install a timing belt on a 95 dodge neon? The chrysler warranty says you can do it in less than two hours, the mechanic at the dealer says you need four to five hours, the same for the mechanic at the corner. The dealership will charge you about $600 included the parts and labor, the mechanic at the corner shop will charge about half of that and the tree shade mechanic will do it for $200, the cheaper you go less warranty you have, I advise to replace the water pump that is behind the timing belt and replace the timing belt tensioner too, that will jack up the price but it is worth it, it is and old car and those parts may be ready to brake too. good luck
