When should the timing belt be replaced on a 1999 VW Jetta Wolfsburg?

My car has about 90000 miles and i was looking to get the timing belt and water pump fixed, should i do it now and how much do you think it will run? When should the timing belt be replaced on a 1999 VW Jetta Wolfsburg?Should have done it 30 thousand miles ago, as far as cost for timing belt and kit around 350 dollars. When should the timing belt be replaced on a 1999 VW Jetta Wolfsburg?you should change it ASAP these belts are known to break before their service interval which is 80,000 miles so your on borrowed time, i work at a shop and have seen them break which costs upwards of 1,300 bucks minimum. if you get it done now i would estimate somewhere from 3-4 hundred dollars and the water pump is not part of the T-belt assembly but should be replaced at the same time as the t-belt must be removed to do the water pump
