It should be at the most $ 200 - you may be getting taken advantage of because of being female. Now if there is damage done due the belt breaking maybe a factor. But to pay that amount you spoke of is high. However depending on the make it is possible. Stealerships are typically higher but you usually get a good repair. I would price other repair shops for an estimate before paying 800.00. Over filling the oil may have cause the belt to break if there was oil bypassed into the combustion chamber causing the engine to %26quot;hydraulic%26quot;, but I doubt that is the case you would have a lot more damage then a broken belt. You would have to put in a extreme amount of oil to do this. If it was say just a quart over it is doubtful that you would have hydrauliced the engine. Call around and talk to people that have knowledge of good repair shops.
